Make your daughter's dream come true and dress her up as a fairy princess. Even if you are not very crafty, you can make fairy princess costumes easily, using materials you probably already have.
Every fairy princess needs a pair of wings. Use two wire hangers from the dry cleaners to make the wing's frames and an old, clean pair of stockings or tights to cover them. Untwist the hangers and straighten them as best you can. Shape each one into a pair of wings. Cut the stockings in half so that each leg is one piece. Pull one leg over one wing and the other leg over the other wing. Make sure the stocking are taut, then tie them to secure them in place. Connect the wings by tying the extra stocking lengths together. Decorate the wings using fabric paint and glitter glue. You can use a few safety pins to attach the wings to your daughter's back.
In addition to wings, a fairy princess needs a tiara and a wand. A sparkly headband will do if you cannot find a tiara at a costume or accessories store. A wand can be made out of shiny metallic pipe cleaners and feathers or glitter.
For the base of the fairy princess costume, you will need a pair of white tights and a leotard. Add a tutu or short flowy ballet skirt and you will have the cutest fairy princess costume ever.
